Wiley and the Hairy Man is a timeless American folk tale about the human spirit set deep in the mysterious Tombigee Swamp .The cast uses rhythm, rhyme, poetry and mime to tell the story of a young boy who overcomes his fears of the "Hairy Man" while relying on his own resources and wits. The production crew included two of our students as part of the play. These students were fabulous as they blended into the scenes as if they were seasoned professionals. It was a joy to watch Elijah and Libby.
Fortunately and unfortunately as well, Arnold School was the last school scheduled to see this production. Due to financial constraints the UNL theater group will be disbanding as they are at the end of their grant period and there is not a good outlook for continuing the grant monies. You may contact tour manager, Flynt Burton, for more information or to be referred to the UNL John Clarkson School of Theater and Film.
